Done Fringin'.

Damn, man. 20 shows. Sarah and I had mad fun. Tomorrow, I think I'll write my capsulated reviews.
Yo...it's raining crazy hard out there. I'm goin' to bed.

But a faint memory.

A certain "artist" no longer exists on my weblog, which is what I know he wants. And that's fine.
Checking out his path of destruction on the internet (ripping off other people's work and a credit card scam...look it up, if you remember his name), I decided that giving this person additional notoriety wasn't in my best interests. And at some point this year, he faked his death on the web. No, I'm not shitting you. I took a hint from that.

He's dead to me.

Out of respect for the dead, I removed every mention of his name on my weblog.

The mere mention of his name by his "allies" on this weblog, even as petty internet small talk, shall be dealt with swiftly.

And if he decides to resurrect himself in some fashion and assault me with the written word using racist overtones, legal action shall be taken.

I'm pretty sure the pseudo-dead are not exempt from litigation.

That is all.

We Be Fringin'

This is a long-ass montage.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Y'all know me...I love the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. Sarah and I often say it, but it's true: the Fringe is Christmas to us. So far, we're three plays deep, and it's only day two. Tomorrow, we've got 3 on deck, plus my man Steve St. Louis' wedding social at the Barca Club, plus I have to work the next fuckin' morning at 7:30. I'll follow that with a healthy nap and MORE SHOWS. Why do we do it?

For the love, bitch!

'Rasslin Recommendations

I asked Jonathan Leung recently what he would recommend as far as puroresu vids for someone that's been out of the loop for a little bit, and suggested it might make a good column topic. He agreed!

Coop's down with Blogger®.

I was totally surprised, really.

I've been a fan of his work for a while, especially becuase he digs big ladies. If you want a good overview of his stuff, I recommend picking up Devil's Advocate (handily designed by the mofos at House Industries). To get a good taste for free, go to coopstuff.com.

If you look to the right, I now have a menu where you can pick from the different Illustration Fridays that I've participated in. Cool, eh? Props to Mr. Ward Jenkins for telling me about the code.

R.I.P. Shinya Hashimoto

I had only seen him wrestle a couple of times (a clipped match with Jushin "Thunder" Liger, and a ZERO-ONE tag match), but he certainly did impress me. The man was huge, but he was incredibly quick and agile.
I just found out today that he passed away from what seems to be a brain hemmorage. He was only 40.

For additional photos, go here.

Goin' to Virginia.

I really don't want to, but I'll be heading to Roanoke, Virginia on August 13th. My cousin is getting married.
I know...I should be happy to be getting out of here for three weeks, but I'm not.
Why? I'm still not sure. I mean...this is a family thing, I should be happy.
It'll probably work out for the best, but...awww, fuck it. I should just fuckin' shut up and be happy.

"Just when I thought that I was out they pull me back in!"

This week's episode of RAW was actually GOOD. Whatthefuck?!?
How the Shawn Michaels heel turn from last week (one of the few good things from the last episode) was handled pretty much satisfied me. The whole Cena - Jericho thing is looking pretty good, too. And the big surprise to me was Matt Hardy's appearance on the show, which - until I hit 1wrestling.com - was a shoot. Someone there mentioned that it was kinda like the Brian Pillman (R.I.P.) "Loose Cannon" storyline back in the day, and I agree. Waitaminute...didn't that whole thing start in ECW? At any rate, that whole thing with him and Stone Cold and the gun was somewhat frightening to me at the time. I was just getting "smart" at the time, so it was quite real. But I digress...the Hardy thing is cool, when you consider the real drama behind the whole thing. I think they all parties involved saw dollar signs, so there may be no "real" retribution in this thing. If it were up to me, I would've kicked Edge in the balls seven times over already. Prick.

I wanna join the iPod generation...

...but I can't currently justify doing so financially. Costco is selling the 60 gig Photo ones for mad cheap, though. And my second-hand Panasonic Shockwave CD player (that I paid too much for in '97) is slowly dying.
Part of me wants one just so I can rock one of these.

I don't know what to think.

I'm watching the TSN rebroadcast of RAW. It sucks. Part of me wants to leave North American wrestling behind, at least the WWE version. It's quite pitifully bad at times. I find myself searching through a two-hour program for good shit like a pig for truffles. Sad. As I type this...the RAW Diva Search is on. Kill me now.
I gotta get me some fuckin' tapes from Highspots.

Once I get my proverbial shit together, I'll try n' make some magic happen with Art Invasion.

Juno Hate-on

Wow...someone really didn't like the Juno Awards:
http://www.deafwish.com/not-music/juno-awards-05/juno-awards-main.htm
Y'all that have been reading this for a while know that I pretty much hate award shows, but I was interested in this one, because Neil Young was gonna be in it (my lovely girlfriend got me a ticket on the strength of that). As we all know, Uncle Neil ended up with some health problems, and couldn't make it. But his replacement, k.d. lang tore the house down. I was moved. I feel the dude that wrote this had his tongue firmly planted in cheek, but the k.d. lang diatribe came off kinda harsh.

Anyway, that'll be the last award-type show I'll attend until I personally get nominated for something. Word.

R.I.P Luther Vandross

I really thought you were gonna make it back to the stage. Rest in peace.

I'm back!

I think know I forgot to tell y'all that I was in Minneapolis for 3 days. As fun as it was, I'm glad to be back. Somewhat.
Big thanks to Lonny "Unitus" Jerome and Aesthetic Apparatus for hittin' me off with these posters pro bono (because they rule):
Lonny: 2 rockin' Midnight Evils posters (one and two) and his Flatstock 4 poster.
AA: One sexy Raveonettes poster and a Blues Explosion poster which I do believe I'm gonna frame.
Oh yeah...I got me a Poop Dog from AA, too!

Yo. Happy Canada Day and a big, fat July 4 th to y'all.
